The LA Influence is doing it again!!!
We are looking for fun, energetic people who are looking for a challenge.
This May we will be working with two different performance teams. A high performance level team and a low-key performance level team. These are NOT Pro, Semi Pro or Amateur based teams.
Here is what you are in for:
High Performance Level Team (Lots of performances) rehearsals will be on Monday and Wednesday nights 9-11pm. While on this team you will be participating in intense warm ups and training that will consist of stretches, sit ups, push ups, Calisthenics, turn drills, impromptu ruedas (RI & Casino), technical training that will help your social dancing and performance skills. You will be required to learn two – three routines. There will be a lot of information given in a short amount of time and therefore you will be expected to keep up & to keep the horseplay to a minimum. A requirement for this team would be to have a basic foundation of Salsa and Bachata. We will train you on the rest.
Low Key Performance Level Team (Not as many performances) rehearsals will be on Tuesday and Thursday nights 9-11pm. While on this team you will be participating in mild warm ups and training that will consist of stretches, sit ups, push-ups, calisthenics, turn drills, impromptu ruedas (RI & Casino). You will also be required to learn one new piece in the style of our choice. Please keep in mind that even though this team will not be as performance based, it will still contain plenty of training and content. Experience is not necessary to join this team. We will train you on all that you need to know.
The LAI Familia:
In 2010, The LAI started its first team. It consisted of 12 dancers and currently the LAI has three teams, 33 current dancers and 44 past and present members. We are a large group of people who like to do things in big groups. We work hard and play hard. We are truly a family. If you think the LAI is for you, then we will see you on Sunday, April 22nd at 1pm.

The LA Influence is a Dance Company based in Long Beach, California, whose primary focus is to educate people in the art of “Social Dance.” Our unique fusion of concepts derived from LA Style Salsa, Rueda de Casino, and Puerto Rican Salsa provides an effective “lead and follow” technique with non gender specific roles.
The LA Influence was established to teach dance as a social concept, rather than memorized choreography and performance. We pride ourselves on developing self-awareness and individual expression through dance. The LAI promotes cultural diversity and celebration of individuality. We are fully committed to provide quality instruction to every student.
The company was co-founded in 2008 by Peter Araiza and Ciara Junge. They both wanted to share their passion for social dance. As social dancers they understood what it meant to be a beginner within the dance community. They created the LAI program to be user friendly for everyone. Ciara and Peter strongly believe in social etiquette, friendly attitudes and good manners.
